FO – Aeolian Berries Shawl

I haven’t been able to post about this finished shawl, as I made it as a gift for my sister, and I’m not sure if she reads this blog or not! However we had an early family Christmas celebration today, and I gave her the shawl.

It’s the lovely Aeolian Shawl pattern from knitty.com, knitted in Handmaiden Sea Silk. It’s a great pattern – it’s not particularly difficult, and quite intuitive to knit, as it’s easy to ‘read’ the pattern, but it looks so impressive! Here it is blocking:

And here’s my lovely sister wearing it:

I think she likes it 🙂

oh wow. Well done. I long to make that one. I think I will in 2010. You did a lovely job and your sister looks so happy with it!

Do cast one on! It’s such a beautiful pattern – the only effort in it is that the border rows do get quite long (especially the second last pattern row, which has a LOT of beads!) but it’s not a hard knit at all. I do have another one on the needles, and I suspect I’ll be making more than two! My sister loves it, so I hope she’ll wear it a lot – she commented today that it will be great at work, where sometimes the air-conditioning is much cooler than she likes.
